No, this is not a gift. This is not a painting, yes, it is a plastic bag. But.. I have used my plastic bags as wrapping paper for my school books! I had wished that I could do this post weeks earlier, but due to some ordering mistake, my school books came too late.

So, I hope this can be an inspiration for next year (or you might be mad enough to wrap your books again this year?)

Wrap your books in plastic bags! It actually only has advantages:

1. It doesn't cost you anything (I mean, everyone gets plastic bags when buying a new piece of clothing)

2. You can't tear it off so easily.

3. Your book isn't totally soaked when it's raining because it's covered in plastic.

4. You can write on it without the risk of getting ink on your book because the paper was too thin and the ink leaked through.

5. Your books are unique.

Give me one reason not to wrap your books like this!

Shirty present

No tutorial this time, but I just want to show you a present I wrapped yesterday evening.



Don't you people think it really looks like a male shirt? If there are really people who would like to know how to do this, I'll post a tutorial. Otherwize I'd just keep it as a 'chefs secret'.

Secondly.. I still miss Sweden. If I had the chance, I would go back as soon as I could. To bring Sweden to me, I decided to bake cinnamon buns (Kanelbullar) this morning. This is a typical Swedish sweet bread. Oh and they were delicious! I really love these Kanelbullar. Probably because I love the taste of cinnamon so much.
Cinnamon on apple, in desserts, on cappuccino, as favourite ice-cream taste, on vanilla ice-cream...

DIY - Ugly beads coverage

In need of a new unique, self-made bracelet, but all you can find is ugly, cheap looking beads? No problem. Just wrap them in whatever colour you like!
My mum came home with the ugliest bracelet I've seen in the past few years. She said she liked it, because the beads looked so much like precious coral pearls. But mum, hey, those pearls are beautiful and these cheap beads are not.

My camera captured the bracelet in such a way that it looks way better than it looks in real life.

All you need to wrap these beads is an old piece of cloth and some iron wire. If you have a pincer, use it! Just cut little squares out of the cloth, cover the beads like a little candy and bind the top with a little piece of iron wire.




Tack your beads, using a needle. Otherwize it would be impossible.

Wrapping tutorial 3

There are times when there's no gift to wrap, because the birthday boy/girl prefers money or you just simply don't know what to buy. However, I bet that there are only few of you who'll disagree on the fact that pressing some money in some other's hand is simply not done. Money can be given in so many ways..



Like a message in a bottle! Or well.. money in a bottle.

Wrapping tutorial 2

The only things you need for a nice present is colourful wrapping paper, a ribbon in matching colour, and a few beads. Whenever you tie a ribbon around the present like a cross, it immediately gives this luxury feeling to the present. It gives the image something important is inside. The beads give a playful accent to it. Whenever the lace is too thick to fit through the bead, cut the ends of the lace as a peak and pierce it through the hole as a needle.

Nothing as fun as giving a beautiful present to your friends on their birthday.
I bet everyone agrees with me that giving a nicely wrapped present is much more fun than giving one which is wrapped quickly, ugly and in stupid cheap-looking wrapping paper.

So, from now on, whenever they ask you if it's a present, say you want to wrap it yourself!
It's ever so easy.

I've bought cheap but glamourous looking golden wrapping paper. From a huge pile of ribbons, i've chosen this white lace ribbon. The fake flowers are bought in some cheap 'i-have-got-everything-store'. Only €2,50 for a whole bouquet! And there are lots and lots of flowers to take off which you can use for your present.
