DIY - Hat exposure

Hello ugly rusty owl. You look like some popular home accessoiry, vegetating in our back yard. You can be much more useful baby!

Sorry owl, but I just felt like tearing you off. Unfortunately you left some rusty spots, which I decided to cover with black tape. It doesn't have to look too neat. I'm planning to cover it anyway.

Look. Why not exposing your prettiest hats? You can use anything. Old lightning standards, candle standards, whatever you like!

DIY - Ugly beads coverage

In need of a new unique, self-made bracelet, but all you can find is ugly, cheap looking beads? No problem. Just wrap them in whatever colour you like!
My mum came home with the ugliest bracelet I've seen in the past few years. She said she liked it, because the beads looked so much like precious coral pearls. But mum, hey, those pearls are beautiful and these cheap beads are not.

My camera captured the bracelet in such a way that it looks way better than it looks in real life.

All you need to wrap these beads is an old piece of cloth and some iron wire. If you have a pincer, use it! Just cut little squares out of the cloth, cover the beads like a little candy and bind the top with a little piece of iron wire.

Tack your beads, using a needle. Otherwize it would be impossible.

I have added a rose to my bracelet, which I've also used here.

DIY Personal planner

It seems to become more difficult to find a nice agenda by each year that passes. I guess it's just me who's growing up, while most of the agendas in the bookshops are made for younger students. I'm not so into little bears, flowers and glitters anymore. All I need is a nice, clear and ordered agenda. Colourful insides, drawings and lots of fuzzels on the inside only annoy me. I want to see immediately what I have to do for homework, and most of all: I want to have enough space to write down what to do, because I'm chaotic. Maybe that's why my agenda is always so ordered.

Anyway, I went to see the new collection agendas in the book shop, because the nicest agendas are always sold out already whenever you buy one too late. However, there was not even ONE i liked. All of them were too childish, too flowery, too fuzzybusy-making-me-dizzyish.
I bought an extremely boring one, but I realized that this was the best thing I could have done.
It meant that I could pimp it my way.

Here you see a before and after. It's ever so easy. Lace is excellent material.

I just sticked it onto the inside of the cover. Now it's multifunctional. It's decorative on the outside, and useful on the inside, because it's a 'week indicator' now as well. It didn't have a lace inside to put between the pages of the week, but those are so easy because then you don't have to search for the right week that long.

Easy rings

Why buying expensive rings if you can easily craft them yourself within only a few minutes, and without any expensive materials?

What do you need?
- Buttons in the colour/size you prefer
- Nylon wire
- Crimpbeads
- Optional: tiny glass beads

In fact, it took more time to find all the materials together than to craft these rings.
You can make them in every colour, to match every!

DIY Panda beanie

I couldn't sit still on a nice and early saturday morning, so I decided to start making my Panda Beanie immediately. I've added a six step instruction plan how to make it yourself.

1. First you are going to make two pom-pons. Cut out four of these board paper rings. The bigger the rings, the bigger your pom-pon.
2. Tie two rings together and tie yarn to it.
3. Turn the yarn around and around the rings until the whole inner circle is filled.
4. You better do the last bits with a needle. The more the inner circle is filled, the firmer your pom-pon will be.
5. Cut the sides open.
6. Cut off a piece of extra yarn and tie it around the centre, just between the two cardboard rings. Then remove them.

For the eyes and the nose, I have used big sized buttons.

DIY shelf

I guess lots of people know how it feels to have too much stuff, but a lack of place to store this all. A shelf can be the solution, but I have extremely weak walls at home. It just breaks down when it has to carry something heavy.
Now I just have turned around those shelf carriers to use them as 'table legs'.
Easy, cheap, solid and no holes have to be made.
