Wrapping tutorial 2

The only things you need for a nice present is colourful wrapping paper, a ribbon in matching colour, and a few beads. Whenever you tie a ribbon around the present like a cross, it immediately gives this luxury feeling to the present. It gives the image something important is inside. The beads give a playful accent to it. Whenever the lace is too thick to fit through the bead, cut the ends of the lace as a peak and pierce it through the hole as a needle.

Open Garden Days - general impression

Besides my aunt having a stall with flowers and garden accessoiries, there were lots of other stalls as well. Self-made postcards, paitings, crochetings (I bought an extremely cute crochetted cherry key-ring).. There was a tea garden where you could buy a drink and something sweet such as apple pie or carrot cake. Aaaand the weather was fantastic! This day was an absolute success!
And I left the garden with tons of inspiration!

Open Garden Days - Sfeervol BijKomen

Yesterday I went to see some of the 'Open Garden Days' in the Dutch Beemster. During these days, several families open their gardens for visitors, having a small market where they sell all sorts of crafty works and arts.
My aunt just started up her own little enterprise, Sfeervol BijKomen, giving flower arranging workshops. She also had a little stall in one of those participating gardens, where people could buy her flower decorations, soap decorations and home/garden accessoiries.

Pretty accident

Isn't it pretty?
I forgot to clean up some stuff after making my after making my wrapping turtorial and yesterday evening, I turned on my Living Colors light after I hadn't used it for weeks.
Now I saw that I gave this beautiful colour effect on my wall. It really looked like an explosion of colours! Like I found the end of the rainbow.

note: you should really enlarge the photographs to see the effect.

Wrapping tutorial 1

Nothing as fun as giving a beautiful present to your friends on their birthday.
I bet everyone agrees with me that giving a nicely wrapped present is much more fun than giving one which is wrapped quickly, ugly and in stupid cheap-looking wrapping paper.

So, from now on, whenever they ask you if it's a present, say you want to wrap it yourself!
It's ever so easy.

Here's idea one of how to wrap your present nicely:

See! It can be that easy, and it doesn't have to cost too much.
I've bought cheap but glamourous looking golden wrapping paper. From a huge pile of ribbons, i've chosen this white lace ribbon. The fake flowers are bought in some cheap 'i-have-got-everything-store'. Only €2,50 for a whole bouquet! And there are lots and lots of flowers to take off which you can use for your present.

Shoestraps

Why have I ever bought pumps? I guess because I like to wear high heels, but in fact, they walk terribly. With warm weather, my swollen feet start to appear red marks along the seams, like the shoes are a size too small. And whenever it's colder, the pump slips off because my feet aren't swollen at all. At those moments, I wish I had bought pumps with straps around the instep which will avoid my feet from sliding out.

Bingo.
I'll just seam those straps myself!
And so I did..

I've fastened one self-made flower to one of the straps, just with a bobby pin, so I can also take it off. My apologies for my terribly looking legs. I must have been more careful while driving my moped..
Now I'm still looking for navy-blue coloured elastic band, so I can also make straps for my blue pumps. Then I'll finally be able to wear them with comfort! Really, those straps are so extremely comfortable!

Another Car Object

I found another hubcap yesterday! I don't know what happens to drivers lately, but I already saw 3 hubcaps along the road in one week! (Would it be an epedemic of drivers losing their car objects? Well, I wouldn't mind..?!) Unfortunately, two of the three caps were already gone before I could take it home, but I got lucky yesterday again. The owner of the Mazda thought his lost hubcap was not important enough to get it back.

Is anyone interested in a light fixture like the one i made here?
Just leave a message!
